Website analytics
The download page counts page loads on all devices and attempts to open the App Store, whether or not a campaign parameter is present. This first-party counter does not use cookies or browser storage. Each record contains only the Prague calendar day, event category (page load, automatic or manual attempt), and a broad source category (Facebook, other UTM source, or unknown), under a random server-generated record key. We do not store IP addresses, browser identifiers, full URLs or Facebook click IDs in these statistics. Netlify hosts this service and may process request data in its operational infrastructure. Counts do not identify unique visitors or confirm installations.
On the DiskSage website, Google Analytics 4 loads automatically to measure page visits, campaign sources, and clicks on App Store links. These clicks do not confirm an app installation. Google receives browser and device information and website activity; website measurement does not access files on your Mac.
Analytics uses cookies configured to expire after six months. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals are disabled by this integration. The website does not display an analytics consent prompt; previously saved website analytics choices are no longer used.
Google may process analytics data outside your country. See the Google Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
DiskSage is operated by JUDr. Michael Živěla, Company ID 05441480, with registered office at Řepova 793/3c, Horní Heršpice, 619 00 Brno, Czech Republic, trading under the Z-Tech Labs brand (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the processing described in this policy. For privacy questions or rights requests, contact info@ztechlabs.cz.
2. Data processed locally on your Mac
DiskSage scans only a drive or folder you select. It reads file-system metadata needed to measure storage and identify cleanup candidates, including names, locations, sizes, file types, and modification dates. File contents are not read for AI analysis. macOS-protected or inaccessible areas may be skipped.
Your selected location bookmark, app language, scan preferences, AI consent choice, and protected exclusions are stored locally using macOS-provided storage. Current chat messages are kept in app memory. Local settings remain until you change or reset them or remove the app.
DiskSage never deletes an item automatically. After you select and confirm an item, the app asks macOS to move it to the Trash.
3. Optional AI processing
AI assessment and AI Assistant are optional and require separate, explicit consent. Local analysis and manual review continue to work if you decline or later withdraw consent.
AI assessment data
- item name and category;
- size and modification date; and
- a temporary technical ID used to match the response.
AI Assistant data
- the message you submit and up to 12 recent messages;
- saved protected exclusions; and
- limited metadata for up to 60 relevant candidates.
We do not send file contents or full disk paths to AI. AI output is advisory and can be inaccurate; always review results before cleanup.
4. Installation and subscription verification
To protect the service and confirm access to Free or Premium features, DiskSage sends signed installation and App Store transaction data to the Z-Tech Labs backend. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple handles purchase, renewal, cancellation, restoration, and refund workflows.
The backend derives a pseudonymous service identifier from the signed Apple transaction. OpenAI receives only a one-way safety identifier, not the original Apple transaction or Apple-signed payload.
5. Service providers and recipients
- Google Cloud and Firebase host the Z-Tech Labs backend, service verification, security logs, and quota controls.
- OpenAI receives the limited AI request data described above and returns an assessment or chat response.
- Apple distributes the app, processes subscriptions, and provides signed transaction information.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where European data protection law applies, optional AI assessment and AI Assistant processing rely on your consent. Subscription verification and delivery of Premium features are necessary to perform the service you request. Limited security, fraud-prevention, and quota data are processed for our legitimate interest in protecting and operating the service. We may also process data when necessary to comply with a legal obligation. You may withdraw AI consent at any time in DiskSage Settings; this does not affect processing already completed before withdrawal.
7. International data transfers
Google, OpenAI, and Apple may process service data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are handled using an applicable adequacy decision, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism offered by the relevant provider. We limit transferred data to what is needed for the selected feature.
8. Retention and service logs
Z-Tech Labs does not intentionally place AI request bodies, file names, chat text, file paths, or raw Apple transaction payloads in operational logs. Limited technical logs can include a random request ID, route, account tier, item count, environment, duration, and error type. Quota counters are assigned an expiry of approximately 35 days so rolling service limits can be enforced. Deletion by cloud infrastructure may occur after the expiry time. Security or error records may be kept longer only when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, resolve an incident, meet a legal obligation, or under the cloud provider's configured retention rules.
AI requests are made with response storage disabled. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in; Z-Tech Labs has not opted in. OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring data for up to 30 days unless a longer period is required for security or legal reasons. Apple and cloud infrastructure retain their records under their own policies and account configurations.
9. Your choices and rights
You can decline AI processing, withdraw consent in DiskSage Settings, remove protected exclusions, choose a different scan location, or delete local app data by resetting settings or uninstalling the app. Withdrawing consent stops future AI requests but does not alter local scan results already displayed in the current session.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent. Email us to exercise a right. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Security and children
We use signed app transactions, encrypted network transport, pseudonymous identifiers, request limits, and data minimization to protect the service. No system is completely secure. DiskSage is a general macOS utility and is not directed to children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this page when appropriate.
